JC "Chick" Sample, 96, of Biggs passed away Thursday, March 9, 2017.Chick was born in Silver City, Oklahoma on October 1, 1920. During his early years, Chick left Oklahoma relocating to Gridley, California where he lived most of his life. Chick retired from the City of Gridley during which he received the cherished "Civilian of the Year" award as he was credited for pulling out two individuals from a burning car.
